Fabulous Fan Letters

Here are some awesome fan letters I've received recently.

6/1/10:

Hi, Chance:

I’ve spotted you in several TV shows, and just wanted to let you know I enjoy your work. The SVU episode was on tonight on USA Network.
Are you in the Liberty Mutual Insurance commercial (Responsibility – the “pay it forward” scenarios)?

Best wishes in your career.

7/5/10:

Dear Mr. Kelly:

I wrote to you a couple of years ago letting you know that Im a huge fan of your performances.  Today USA network is showing a Law and Order CI marathon and there you are doing like 5 minutes in the role of a evil man who gets the needle but before that he gives a speech stating that he is not the one who killed a woman whose family is witnessing the event. Before that, the evil man had an argument with the jail guard over a pizza.

My point is, you have no idea on how much you scare me.  Its tv and it’s a show that I see every day.  So I’ve seen many performances of the bad guys but there is something about you that is really, really scary like if I’m in NY and I bump into you I will cry.  When the each episode finished I might think about taking precautions but if you are in the show I think that I don’t want to cross paths with someone like you, NEVER!!!!

On the other hand, I follow you thru imbd and facebook and you seem to
be a kind person who actually spent time answering my past email but its
that behavior that you show that scares me in a very deep level.

Please, as I said in my other email that I sent many years ago
keep with that great performance, I’m a huge fan.

10/9/10:

Chance

Thought that I would drop you an email from Northern England
A group of us just watched the mini series Generation Kill on DVD
It has not been shown on English TV (I think that is because Iraq war is a bit provocative over here at the moment...mainly due to accurate information)

Anyway, your character is great and you come across really well
My girlfriend and her mates are now big Chance Kelly fans so be careful if you ever come to Hull...it's about 300 miles North of London and it rains all the time!

Kindest regards and best of luck with your career

3/16/11:

Mr. Kelly,
I have been watching Generation Kill (I'm a bit behind, I know) and thought you were great in it. I went on the IMDB message boards and saw that you actually post responses yourself on there. You made the mistake of posting your email address so people like me can bother you. I am a pretty big movie fan and am lucky enough to live in Champaign, IL where Roger Ebert owns a theatre. Next month I get to volunteer for Ebertfest and see all of the movies and Q&A sessions with the guests.

I just wanted to say that I am a fan of your work and you seem like a genuinely good person. Keep up the awesome work and God bless you, sir!

4/14/11:

(In response to receiving a group signed GK DVD set):

Sorry to send a text so late... But, THANK YOU!!! So f-----g awesome of you to do this. I will cherish it forever. Way to do work, my friend!!! I will pass this on to my son! Please tell them + you all, Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We really mean that. We really do. Thank you all for an excellently acted, wonderful 7 hours of our lives!

5/3/11:
I saw last night episode of Law and Order Los Angeles.  It was great to see you as a good guy but difficult because of the decisions that you had to make.  Again, I was scared when you asked the investigator not to move and when you decided that the house had to be exploted.  Its nice to enjoy your good guy face. You are so handsome that you should stay in those characters.  I felt confident that the decision of explode the house was the best because it came from a good guy.

How was it for you to work with Alfred Molina???

5/9/11

Hi Chance:

So nice to see you on TV again - my wife and I were watching LOLA tonight and so enjoyed your performance, as usual. You really bring a verisimilitude to the roles you play, especially military and law enforcement characters. Have you been offered any lead roles on TV shows or in films yet? I checked your IMDB page, and was surprised that you're not headlining a show yet, but it's good to see that you continue to work steadily. As I tell my models, keep at it and if you do great work, eventually it always pays off.
